Waypoint Lens
Privacy, Terms, and Community Guidelines
Last updated August 26, 2026. These policies explain how Waypoint Lens protects private field journals, supports a respectful photography community, and handles public sharing.
Privacy Policy
Your work and locations stay under your control.
Waypoint Lens collects the account information you provide, such as your name, email address, profile details, photographs, albums, comments, direct messages, and information used to create private journeys and waypoints.
Photographs may contain camera metadata and GPS information. Waypoint Lens uses available GPS data to help you create private waypoints, but public display images are converted to stripped WebP files. Public Album and Wall sharing never includes map pins, coordinates, directions, access notes, or private field notes.
You choose whether an album, Wall post, or profile content is private, shared with the community, or available through a public sharing link. Do not publicly share content if its title, description, caption, date, or visible scene would reveal information you want to keep private.
We use service providers needed to host Waypoint Lens, store content, deliver account and notification email, maintain backups, and protect the service. We do not sell your personal information.
We retain account and content information while your account remains active and as reasonably necessary for backups, security, legal obligations, and resolving disputes. You may request access, correction, or deletion assistance by contacting privacy@waypointlens.com .
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your password private and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Terms of Use
Use Waypoint Lens responsibly.
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must provide accurate account information and use Waypoint Lens only in compliance with applicable law.
You retain ownership of photographs and other content you post. By uploading content, you give Waypoint Lens the limited permission needed to store, process, display, and share that content according to the visibility settings you choose.
You may upload only content you own or have permission to use. Do not post copyrighted work, personal information, private communications, or images of people where you do not have the necessary rights or consent.
Waypoint Lens may remove content, limit access, suspend accounts, or cooperate with lawful requests when needed to protect members, investigate reports, comply with law, or maintain the service.
Photography involves real-world risk. Waypoint Lens does not guarantee the accuracy, safety, legality, availability, or suitability of any place, route, image, or member-provided information. Use independent judgment and follow all land-access, safety, permit, and local rules.
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, Waypoint Lens is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
Community Guidelines
A good community is generous, careful, and respectful.
Share work, questions, and constructive feedback in good faith. Treat other photographers with respect, especially when opinions or experience levels differ.
Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, discriminate against, spam, scam, exploit, or repeatedly contact another member who has asked you to stop. Use the Block and Report controls when needed.
Protect sensitive places. Do not publish another person’s private location, directions, access details, or personal information without clear permission. Respect closures, permits, tribal lands, private property, wildlife, and local regulations.
Share only content you have the right to publish. Give credit where it is due, and do not use Waypoint Lens to distribute illegal, dangerous, or sexually exploitative content.
Reports are reviewed by administrators. Content or accounts that violate these guidelines may be removed or restricted. Serious or repeated violations may result in account suspension or removal.
